Shri Govindrao Munghate Arts and Science College, Kurkheda is the leading institution of Higher Education in tribal and most backward area of Kurkheda, which is most backward, tribal area of Gadchiroli, district. This area is affected by the Naxal Movement.

The organization realized the urgent need to provide higher education to the tribal pupils of the area.

The college is affiliated to Gondwana University, Gadchiroli and was established by ‘Dandakaranya Educational & Cultural Reasearch Development Society, Gadchiroli's in the year 1990 to fill the vacuum and serve the educational interest of the people of the area.

The college is situated in a beautiful natural background of lush, green vegetation and paddy fields.
